Dear Voter,
In my email to you last week, I told you of 9 major accomplishments I made happen in my roles as School Board Member and Orange County Commissioner. I knew it was important to show you evidence that I delivered on my promises.
You and Apopka deserve so much MORE! So, now I want to share how a MAYOR MOORE will lead Apopka into its next chapter. Working together with you, applying my well-known reputation for integrity, hard work, and vision, we can and will transform today’s community into the Apopka for which we have all longed.
PROPOSED WORK PRODUCT
- Bring Apopka’s drift toward suburban sprawl under control
- Markedly improve Apopka’s infrastructure deficiencies
- Continue processing Apopka’s core into a walkable, bikeable downtown, complete with entertainment, dining, arts, markets, parking, and meet-up spaces
- Recruit the missing shopping, dining, medical, service business, and employment to complete our Neighborhood Commercial Centers
- Creation of a downtown historic district
- Expansion of pocket parks, biking trails, and conservation lands
- Explore ways to curb rising civic incivility, bringing back Apopka’s friendly spirit
- Employ a director to widen the variety of the city’s cultural offerings
These are big, but achievable goals. Achievable because of my qualifications and the relationships I’ve cultivated while Commissioner and School Board Member. I already have established connections with key government agencies and officials, business leaders, and entertainment providers which I can call as partners and collaborators. To expand my vision and skills, I also received professional development through Florida Main Street, Florida Redevelopment Agency, and “Strong Towns”.
Without a doubt, I am ready to lead Apopka on day one. You deserve to have the very best leadership available with a leader who believes in your potential and future.
