Back to School Bash & Bike Rodeo

 Apopka Middle School

The Back to School Bash & Bike Rodeo, hosted by Orange County Commissioner Christine Moore, provided children in the area with backpacks full of school supplies and brand-new bicycles. Commissioner Moore, a dedicated advocate for her constituents, has consistently worked to improve the lives of families in District 2. Her leadership and commitment were evident in the seamless organization of this special day, which drew hundreds of attendees eager to support their community.

The Bike Rodeo was a standout feature of the event, designed to equip the community’s youth with essential cycling skills. The neighborhood resounded with cheers as young cyclists navigated through skill stations designed to teach the essentials of stop-start, signaling, and safely navigating twists and turns. The event’s highlight was the generous donation of bicycles and helmets to over 100 young people in District 2. These contributions brought joy and excitement to many faces, providing not just a mode of transport but a sense of freedom and responsibility.

Volunteers fitted helmets and shared valuable safety knowledge, ensuring that every participant was geared up and educated on riding smartly and securely. Additionally, a team of volunteers ensured bicycle safety through thorough checks and maintenance for all bikes.

Commissioner Moore worked with several key sponsors. such as Bike/Walk Central Florida (BWCF), the Orlando Magic, AdventHealth, and the Orange County Fire Department to make this amazing event a reality for Apopka residents.
